Can you please introduce yourself?
My name is Angelina Okoko and I am a Marketing Specialist at EfficiencyOne.
What is your educational background?
I have a B.A. in Design and Communications from Chatham University in Pittsburgh, PA.
When did you start at EfficiencyOne and how did you learn about the organization?
I started at EfficiencyOne in 2020 after learning about the organization through ISANS, a local organization that helps newcomers settle in Nova Scotia. I was excited for a new challenge and the opportunity to join a team of passionate people all doing their part for a cleaner future.
How does the Marketing & Communications team support EfficiencyOne’s purpose?
Our team supports EfficiencyOne’s purpose – we transform the way people use energy – by helping Nova Scotians adopt sustainability into their lives. This means raising awareness about energy conservation, promoting responsible energy use, and educating customers on the right programs for their needs.
Why are diverse perspectives important in the clean energy sector?
Bringing together people with diverse perspectives and life experiences is an opportunity to view one situation through many different lenses. From this, we can learn new and unique approaches to problem solving.
What is your favourite thing about working at EfficiencyOne?
More than one – knowing that my voice is always heard, having a supportive environment, and working with a team of passionate people.
What does having the option to work remote/hybrid mean for you?
Nothing beats a 3-minute commute!
